Since Jazz is the only indigenous musical art form in the U.S., (with Country Music being the only other contender) maintaining awareness and growth for every Jazz Art Form is very important to this U.S. Jazz Artist. Live Jazz and Recorded Jazz are the main mediums and to keep and Jazz alive requires awareness and support. Live Music is SO MUCH BETTER than DEAD MUSIC. Keep the real Music alive by supporting it. Go see live Jazz music performed by real Jazz Artists in a real Jazz concert or Club date. Jazz happens all over the U.S. live, and if your area has limited Jazz offerings; all the more reason to make it a point to see that jazz show when it is available. Buy Artists CDs when you can or downlaod from the services that charge a buck or so because some of that money supports the musicians you love. Make it a point to purchase Jazz CDs when you can. So much of the Music business has been destroyed by the digital exchange of copyright music with no regard to the Writers and Artists creating that music. If they cant afford to eat, they wont have the time or the resources to write and record more great music. I am not talking about the MAJOR LABELS or the MUSIC INDUSTRY. I am talking about Musicians; Jazz Artists. My friends in the business that are creating less and less Art, Musical, American Jazz, and doing more Pop and Commercial Music many of them hate, just to eat and pay the rent. It is that bad. Please Support the Real Music that you love so it will be there to Support and Love next week too. Get out to a live show and pick up a CD or 3.
